Last year I had a white ring around some leafs and was thinking it was a chemical burn. Also how will it affect Mycorrhizal additives

sevin for all i know about it should not burn the leaves unless you were to apply it when the leaves are wet, then you might have problems.
most big time growers no longer use sevin. they use a systemic spray on insecticide (warrior tea for example)that will be taken into the plant by the leaves and will kill anything that nibbles away at it.
green lovers dont use this because it kills with no regard for any insect good or bad that decides to take a nibble.the way i figure it darren ? id rather kill a few innocent bystanders then had squash bugs,boarers etc, eventually kill my season.theres always plenty more bugs to go around.

a discolored ring around the leaves may very well be something lacking in your soil.suggest a soil test in the future.

sevin on the leaves should have no effect on mico used in the soil.sevin is a contact and mico is taken in by the root system.

warrior tea is a systemic insecticide - compost tea is a fertalizer drenched or sprayed on the plant and/or soil.

you need a licence ( or know someone who has one ) to purchase warrior tea. there are other systemic insecticides
however that are as good and are available to the general public. just google systemic insecticides.

no no no sevin just lays a protective layer on where ever it lands. rain,etc, can wash it off.it is not a systemic.

Almost all the chemicals you need are availabe if you know what the active ingredient is..only the concentration is different.

I gave up using Sevin after 2 years of using it and having squash bugs and cucumber beetles just stand on pumpkins and laugh at me after spraying them.

Go to SNGPG.com, buy Pap's booklet "Dick's Tips 2". Help yourself and the OAF, too.

Thanks everyone. Linus I did use Triazicide last year with seven and used Bayer tree and shrub. I don't know which one worked but I had no svb. one or two cucumber bugs. The Year before I was over run with both. Oh ya svb trap too. Just trying to find out what I did right And what I did wrong.

Warrior t I believe is now called warrior 2.You need a pesticide license(certificate?) to buy it. You can buy the same active ingredient over the counter as a landscape pesticide.Make sure you follow directions and nobody eats the pumpkin.
