i have been watching dale marshals monster on the diary page. truely a once in a lifetime experience.
one could grow for another twenty years and never get this kind of a ride, then again? it could be happening for you as soon as next season.one things for sure though? it does not happen very often. pumpkins with these measurements are few and far between even under the best of conditions.
whether it weighs over, under or on chart? should not be that big an issue. just to grow something with those dimentions (and make it all the way ?)deserves a lot of praise.
look at the protection he built? immagine the amount of work keeping that plant healthy when the outside temps and soil around that structure are still freezing.and in alaska to boot?
for sure this did not happen by accident? it took planning,research, lots of work and im sure some personal commitment as well. a lot can be learned by all you new growers based on what dale has done.
