I came out this morning and found that one of the larger leaves on my plant had colapsed under its own weight and was laying on the ground with the stalk pretty severely bent. Should I try to prop it up or just cut it off?

Cut it off and apply captan.

You need to make something to prevent the wind from whipping the plant. We use plastic coat hangers cut in half.

I would prop it up , put a little fungicide on the split and leave it . This has happened to me numerous times and the leaves last awhile , why waste a perfectly good leaf , besides you can prune it anytime , if it dosn't work out.

The plant is in a hoophouse so it wasn't wind that did it. It was starting to turn yellow so I went ahead and pruned it. The Main vine is just starting to grow so hopefully this won't delay growth too much.
