Sorry to ask a question on estimating. I thought I already knew what I needed to know about estimating weight. I'm not sure where to measure the circumference on this wheel sort of shaped pumpkin. I've tried reading up to see where the circumference measurement needs to be taken from. Initially I thought it had to be from blossom to stem but I have read a few things that the largest circumference must be used. Could someone please put me straight so I can stop messing about measuring it like 5+ times every time I do it! There is a difference of about 100lbs between the 2 circumferences that I have measured.

That is tricky for sure, I hope your supporting the back end somehow or it will tip over. Check my diary from 2007 I has one similar. Just measure it the same way each time to know if growth is still going but that is one heck of a shape and position to figure out the correct way.

SMT, curious for sure, but the best turotial I ever read...stated that CC measurement is done parallel to ground, around the widest part...certainly gonna throw off the charts!!! Most important at this point, I think, is what Kirk said!!!! get some support under that overhang!!!
I would measure from stem to blossom parallel w/ground, and brag about % heavy!!! Peace, Wayne

Thanks for the adviceyou guys. I came back off holida a few days ago. The over hang is about 5 inches from touching down on the ground so if it continues then obviously I won't be able to take a measurement from the stem to blossom end as it will in effect be sat on the blossom.
