I have seen a lot of talk on the site about the 10 day circumference measurement being a good bench mark to start checking growth of your pumpkins. At this early stage of growth the reminants of the female flower are still sticking out over an inch from the meat of the pumpkin. Should the 10 day circumference measurement include the left over portion of the female flower? Or should the measurement leave out the female flower extending out from the pumpkin body?

Do not include the blossom. Day ten measurements don't seem to be that important or a great indicator of what you will end up with. But it is fun to measure and watch them grow. If you're growing pumpkins for good looks, I suggest not measuring them too often when they are young.
