I have a few plants growing. All planted the same time and treated the same way. I have one plant that is about twice as large as the others. the leaves on this plant are two to three times the size as the others.I'm talking huge! my question is, is there any relation to pumpkin size and leaf size .

No, not that I have heard of.
IF you have a plant that is really out performing the others under the same growing conditions that could be a good indication of the one that will take you over your PB.

unfortunately the plants size has some but little effect on the size of the fruit it is capable of producing. big leaves sometimes are a direct result of excess nitrogen in the soil and on other occasions ? a genetic trait. as long as your plants are between 450 to 700 square ft either is capable of growing the same size pumpkin. genetics, soil and your maintenence program will make the difference.

An old post I know but I am trying to learn as much as posisble.
Pap, you mentioned that Large leaves could be a sign of excessive Nitrogen. I read that if you new leaves are dark green then that too could be a sign of too much nitrogen. Therefore could light green new growth but big leaves mean nitrogen levels is okay?
I guess it also depends on when the nitrogen is too high as levels must change with growth and fertilisation.

Forgot to mention, my interest lies in my leaves being large but looking healthy. Too much info for a new grower and my head works overtime ;)
