Pollinated this one this morning. 6 lobes but two of them are deformed and one is quite a bit smaller. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=134781 This one is at 15.5 ft and really the one I wanted to grow. I have one on this plant that I pollinated on the 16th that had 5 perfect lobes at 13 and another one going to pollinate in a few days at 19. Of course I will have to take a lot more into consideration, but would like some advice on if there are any downsides to deformed lobes.

i dont like deformed lobes. its means to me there is a defect and defects on the lobes can cause either aborts altogether or when the fruit grows ? it will have caved in pockets inside the fruit ----- will give the fruit a deformed look.
id pick the next pumpkin down the line.
