I have read several articles that talk about burying the ends to have them root. I wonder how hard it would be to start a second plant from the clones? ....Has anyone done this during the growing season? More on clones http://www.pumpkinnook.com/howto/clone2.htm
I am a new grower always trying something new that never works 8}

I hope I say this right.
When you trim your vine keeping the christmas tree and cloning the part you have trimmed from it ( so you get 2 plants from one seed )

Mr. Rahe...I think it has been done. I think Festus, kept a 1450 Wallace intack thru 3 growing seasons, by cloning a clone!!! Not positive, maybe ask Mr. Sandbaggus? LOL Peace, Wayne
