I have one patch it is 30'x30' I plan on growing one pumpkin in the patch. My fear is what if something happens to my plant. Should I try to grow another pumpkin at the oppisite end on my patch and see which one looks better then get rid of the weaker one? Thanks

Great idea. You could even grow four plants, each planted at the center of each edge so all mains are 90 degrees from center of patch and all growing toward right at the middle. Then pick who you want to keep when the time is right.

Each to their own. I would grow two, paying more attention to the one that is doing the best. If something happens to one plant I'll have a back up.
