Are you using the city water directly from a hose ?? - could be the chlorine etc. in the water.

My guess would be the plant overheated, what else would cause that? It was looking fine in the morning, then that afternoon it looks like that? I smoked one of mine a little today. ( It was 85 degrees outside.) Don't worry it is a long season. It's like tripping up a little at the beginning of a marathon. I would open up your house a little bit more if it is going to get above 75 degrees.

on hind sight I believe it was a heat issue too. My hoop is 6x10 and about 4 ft high in the center I had both ends completely open and assumed that was enough, wont make that mistake again. Any suggestions on how to lower the temp on those rare 80 degree spring days?

JDfan, I was using city water straight from the hose, yesterday I set out a couple barrels to start catching rain water.

I think I may have to split my hoop house down the top center! I opened both ends all the way but its still too hot. I added a fan and that helped some but is it normal to have heat lamps at night and a fan during the day?
