What kind of soil does everyone use to start there seeds. Last year I used Miracle grow potting mix but then I heard that was bad. Thanks

just regular starting pottin soil with the chunks of white stuff in it, try to avoid miracle grow and others with added fertalizers cause it can burn off the pumpkins roots, also try and avoid staring soils with lots of sand or large pieces of wood in it. I usualy bake my soil in the oven for a half hour befor i use it, it kills off the any bad stuff that might be in the soil.

I use potting soil mixed with some organic fertilizer and micorrhizae in the bottom half of the top. On top of that I use Jiffy mix. I don't get damping off from the Jiffy mix, and the stuff at the bottom gets the plants off to a good start.

Jiff, Espona And PHC make organic fertilizer mixes with micorrhizae and beneficial bacteria in int. I ususlly use a tablespoon of that in each pot and mix more in the planting hole.
