Two takeaways: "Death penalty for drug dealers!" "Mitch McConnell has got to go."
I had to turn it off because that was as much as my brain can handle.
What do you think...? Even if drugs or drug dealers kill people which they do, doesn't the ultimate redponsibility fall to the user? (True, the cost of drugs on society is huge, and largely swept under the carpet by a drug friendly culture... plus every other sin as well).
If your kid was addicted to drugs and the situation was hopeless, then should we at that point say the user has no choice they are an invalid (someone who lacks adult autonomy, like a child or mentally disabled person) owing to their drug use, and then treat the drug user as a murderer of a totally defenceless person? That makes sense in some cases. But in other cases the drug user knows the risks and could choose to stop. They still have autonomy. Then the drug dealer is more like someone who promotes a high risk recreational activity. No one is going to say the owners of a ski resort are murderers.
As for Mitch McConnell well throwing the house minority leader of your own party under the bus like that... is pretty nuts. If there is an interparty conflict of that magnitude (should I say maga-nitude?) then maybe its time to just start a new political party. Trump glossed over the exact details of why it was necesssary to throw McConnell under the bus. Without the details laid out clearly, then it becomes a lame "because he doesnt agree with me" argument.

Lastly of course are the attacks on AOC, who represents the American dream better than Trump, and who represents her constituency better than any of the rich left wing lawyer establishmrnt who are superbly unqualified to represent anything other than the most narrow of interests.
In short, you can probably tell I'm not thrilled with Trump. He ought to stick with the economy. I think Trump is a genius, but I also think he just isnt good enough at politics. Attacking Fetterman for relying on his parents (is this true?) smacks of hypocrisy because Trump would be nothing without his own dad.
If you read all of this, then share your thoughts! Exceeded the 2,000 character limit. ... and this us why I had to tune Trump out. He stirred this pot too much so the soup was spilling over the edges of this small pot lol.

On drugs, it's a very simple issue for most people. Think about the children. People shouldn't do drugs. We need the government to parent our children because we aren't good enough parents.
Drugs would not be a problem if there was a good family structure that disincentivizes behaviors that can ruin your life. The government is terrible at solving problems, but families can, if they really do care for their children and their communities. Promoting ideals that thwart family structure and encourage the government to take its place is never in anyone's long term best interest.

Unless kids have both their biological parents, there may be voids they will try to fill. Hopefully what they fill those voids with is healthy and they will thrive... but some children wont thrive without both parents?
