It has recently come to my realization, normal non-pumpkin growing Americans are afraid, yes indeed fearful, of dirt.

Now I being totally unafraid of dirt, I am officially no longer "normal"... :)

I love working on my hands and knees in the dirt. OOPS I meant to say soil. Dirt is what we track into the house. Soil is what we grow plants in. LOL

Imagine being in the World War One trenches for months with stagnant water, rats, excrement, and disease. Your only hope for survival is digging miles across fields by hand in mud. All this while watching your friends get their heads blown off or gassed by the Germans. That is true dirt.
