I grew up in a refinery town before I moved to Missouri. It stunk like shit. My stepdad was a pip fitter for Shell Oil. Rough living.

Something to think about:
This happened years ago before the price of gas was low and started to go up. I literally saw a couple gas stations increase their price of gas and a delivery gasoline tanker never even replenished their supply that day. I went into the station and asked, "how can you increase the price of gas when you never got a new delivery and the same gasoline available in your tanks this morning was at a lower price". "We were told to". Gouging????? $$$$$?????

186 per litre-brutal. Luke makes a good point, we have lots of oil so why so high? Oil is a world commodity so when the Saudis sneeze we get a cold. We need to do better like supporting each other in crisis like this. Keystone pipeline looking really good right now, what am I missing?

As one of the worlds largest reserves, we will be exporting oil for along time. Yeah, someone will pick back up on Keystone when our neighbours South need more supplies.

Rather than sending those great reserves to the Gulf Coast through long pipelines to refineries, wouldn't it be great if refineries were located near the reserves? That would reduce many of the environmental concerns along the pipeline routes.

Even if you refined it at the source you'd still have to get the various redined products to a market. Using railcars or trucks is easier on the environment than a pipeline? Idk, but thats what you have to consider. I think "pipeline" is just a bad word for certain people. The actual truth is elusive.

3.99 yesterday. About a 30 cent increase over the last 10 days. At least our state is going to suspend the gas tax at some point this month. It is nice to live in a state that can afford to suspend the tax in tough times.

3.85 at the local gas stations at I-30, Exit 73. That price is similar to the local price of gasoline at the previous peak price many years ago just before the crude oil producers flooded the market with an oversupply of crude.
