Flowers are up, early plants like invasive Honeysuckles are leafing, tree buds are swollen and pollen count is high, Spring Peepers are singing like mad. I don't remember this early of a spring since 2012.
What's it like in your neck of the woods?

2 weeks behind in starting to boiling maple syrup. I'm usually finishing up by now. Still @ 12" of snow on ground. Hope to start boiling 1st batch by Sunday.

Had a pretty good warmup the last couple days, back to normal now. The forecast looks about average.
Probably around halfway done with our syrup, just got rid of our snow this week.

Foot+ on the level but the snow has that rotten or crystalized look to it so you know the old stuff will disappear fast with some sun and 40F days. The ice around us is not nearly as intense as usual but that can change with an influx brought in with northerly winds and the only escape is melting or southerly winds to push it back. Do not even think about uncovering pumpkin plants till middle of June and sometimes end of June

Plus 20 degrees Cel Thursday 4 pm. Thunder and lightning storm 6 PM. Windy and cool all nite. Were getting flooding on some sideroads. Fields are getting bare, but lots in the bush. Snowmobile party caused a spike in Covid. Two restaurants had to scrub down as well as beer store. 18+ cases in a short period of time. Looking forward to getting out into gardens.

Sap ran for 2 days in western mass and now has stopped for 2 days due to the warm up. Still well over 12" of snow on the patch. Ice fishermen in trucks still on the local lake.

Caught my first big river Smallie last Friday night that was actively chasing big baits. Slow and finesse is over here.

Were at last snow just melted, ground is thawed with a big snow bearing down on us. a typical Denver spring.Always have up and down extremes here. Our elevation is a major player in psychotic weather.

Joe, that sounds rough. But when it’s July, 105 degrees, and so humid it feels like living in soup here, I’ll wish we had your weather!

How is that storm in your area? Worse or not as bad as what was being called for?

It's March in Canada, and it is acting like it. Last week we had a nearly 70* Farenheit day, and are back down to low 20s tommorow. We only just had the sap run a couple days ago, so we are a bit behind, but the long term weather forecast is looking promising. I think March is much like a day 10 number, it doesn't mean anything in determining the final weather. Hope everyone can get their plants out early, and I wish you all luck!
