Apparently he is sane, rational, trying to follow the law, and trying to limit damage.
I know a lot of you are very poisoned against Trump but I do not think Trump himself is the source of that poison. Because (other than not being a covid fear-mongerer) he seems to me to have been a very decent man. Crucify him as indecent but maybe he set the bar higher than most of you think.

I know how the mind works. I know some of you will always hate him. But in the end it turns out he is more libertarian than fascist. I dont regret voting for him.

Your perspective may change and soften. It's hard to have an open mind when under stress.

I would think that in the future historians will not be kind to Trump and his enablers. Except for Romney who will be looked upon as a very intelligent level headed republican who tried in vain to convince his colleagues to do the right thing. I would think for years there will be studies on this past four + years looking to see how it could have happened. Would be karma if Pence invoked the 25th.

Well.... at least he didn’t drag us into another quagmire in Syria like Hillary would have. For that, I thank him.

TP, never was a fan of that person and my distaste for this guy goes back way before the last few years.

Glad you brought up Romney. He is the closest thing to an establishment Democrat that I have ever seen. He will be one to keep an eye on. Romney is sooo Establishment I would make a new political term for him: He may be the (first ever?) Unpopulist politician.
He ought to have positioned himself as a cleaner-than-Trump, more moderate populist. Instead, he has positioned himself as the Mike Bloomberg of the Republican party.

Romney never liked Trump and was honest about it from the start. He had something most current republicans are lacking. A spine. He never bowed down to Trump or sold out his principles for a position of power. about 99.9% of Trumps cronies are slime who praise him in the press, but leak dirt and talk smack behind his back.
No I prefer Graham from my own SC. Three weeks ago he was still trying to "find" votes for his golf buddy Trump, and yesterday he publicly drop him like a bad habit. Like Trump he has no shame.
When you surround yourselves with snakes you get bit eventually.

Glad u have nice things to say. To Trumps populist followers Romney is crafty and serpentine but I guess it depends how you look at him. I still think Trump is the only president in my lifetime who I would encourage my kids to serve in the military under. That's the biggest compliment I can give to the commander and chief of the armed forces. I wouldnt give that compliment to Romney.

I have always been a doubting Thomas. I originally thought Trump was just a crude alpha male, but a better alternative to Marco Rubio, who struck me as flimsy and opaque. Its all water under the bridge now. I have already said the biggest compliment I can possibly say.
