I have an ARIENS snow blower which I bought last year. Found out wrought iron would not go through my last snow blower, twisted everything so I looked at the pros and cons of fixing or new. Worked very well for me and can really throw the snow a good distance.
What do others have and which do you think is the best?

Don’t need them very often where we live, but my money is on the Honda snowblowers with auger assist and track drive system.

Freedom Is Just Another Word For Noting Left To Lose

I believe I have a Troy built. I don't run tire chains and it had done pretty well in the snow. The only time it has really worked hard was with wet heavy now. It blew the snow out in tube form and would plug the shoot. I'd be willing to bet it would almost be cheaper (depends on the damage) to buy a new one. How long to get parts and time consumed ordering and rebuilding and that would be fixing it yourself. I prefer garden tractor and plow myself.

I don't know which is the best. I go with one I can get locally fixed. I had a 10hp snapper for 14 years and replaced it with a Husqvarna five years ago. Both worked well with different quirks and necessary repairs each year. The snapper auger arrangement ate shear pins. The Husqvarna seems to be a bit cranky with the motor. I now use a Kubota tractor for the main clearing.
