Has anyone ever bought a mix like Jacks or a miracle grow type fertilizer and suspected it was not 'as labelled'? In other words the product was a bad batch/a lemon?? Every industry has off-grade products that can make it back into the hands of consumers through dubious supply routes. Has this happened to you possibly?

I bought a bag of Jacks from a store that normally marks things up a lot. This wasn't badly marked up, which is why I bought it. Now I suspect they are reselling a factory-reject.

I would guess that it could happen, maybe a place like western labs could test it

I think it is highly unlikely, a large manufacturer would undoubtedly utilize master batch records and have CoAs for all raw components and the products produced which would reduce the chances of accidental release of a bad batch to very low. And upon testing of the finished lot if they discovered an OOS result there’s no doubt they go through extensive measures to destroy or recover the product for other use in order to prevent this exact type of conversation involving a product with their name attached to it. I’d even give a counterfeit label scenario a higher % chance that actually releasing a bad product. But I could always be overestimating the industry standards of course.

Ok. Well I assume its a good product. So assuming its a good product then I have ammonium/ acidity issues that just are at odds with the ammonium in the product. Thank you!

The bag looked like it had been through hell not straight from the supplier. Thats kinda why I was thinking maybe the issue wasnt on my end... Well whatever. Its all water under the bridge its not a critical issue.

Maybe the old beat up bag didn’t look good that’s why a good price tag... like perfect peppers they sell for more money compared to a twisted up curly pepper.. just saying
