Is adding certain fertilizers to the patch a good or bad idea? When, which ones?

Do a soil test before adding anything. You can always add--but you can't pull it out once it's added to the patch.

Soil test 1st !! Then you will have an idea of what/where your soil is, and what it needs!! Peace, Wayne
Local county agricultural agents will get you basic results, almost free! From UK, I think. Find your local county ag agent, call him/her...ask how to take samples...get it done b/4 adding anything. Grow em BIG!!
