I tried a back pack sprayer. But it was to much weight on my back. It was easier for me to use hand. but I'll only be spraying 4 plants.

This is the one that I have: http://www.tractorsupply.com/-1013081
5 gallons, built in pump and rechargeable battery, extendable pull handle and wheels.
Pros: excellent long range (30') or fine mist spraying, excellent battery life, good spray volume and pressure, easy drag behind model with cool wheels
Cons: a bit of a short coiled hose, I may swap out the hose with a longer non coiled version. The wheels are most terrain, not all terrain.
This is the best unit for my needs...it's get r' done.

no matter what you decide i would advise either a backpack motorized misting sprayer or one that rolls on platform and dispenses the spray by battery. beats the hell outta a hand pump for sure. we would be lost for time without our sthl backpack. saves a ton of time and gives great coverage above and below the canopy. if you plan on sticking in the hobby id advise the sthl. easier to get in and around. pap

The Stihl was the first "major" buy I made my second season growing. I remember the first time a sprayed the patch and it took me about 5 minutes to do the whole thing. I stood there thinking to myself, that was fast, now what do I do? it's still light outside...lol

I bought a Stihl and it works great. Have had one the Stihl chainsaws and it was the best. Can't beat the quality but hate the weight.

Got one of those too; but it will be a chore to cover the pumpkin leaves on these plants. Have been there, buy the Stihl.

IMHO a diaphragm sprayer is superior to a piston sprayer because they are able to pass small particles much better than a piston sprayer.

With an attachment for the Stihl, you can spread dry/granular products also.

I have used that same Hudson. Its a workout and awkward to even get on by yourself. The pump system does work well and if you are physically fit could probably cover your plants with it. You would just have to look at it like you are getting a some exercise while you are spraying your plants.

Yes, the Stihl is pricey but, if you think of the money you spend in total over the years on devices trying to make the spraying process simpler and faster, you'll be ahead in the long run. The Stihl is very durable, easy to use, and reliable.
