Last year, Labor Day Sept. 5, I pollinated a LG on a half dead plant for the hell of it. Oct. 1st it reaches 92.5 inches and still growing. The only thing I can attribute to that kind of growth so late in the season is the applications of Biota Max. Right up to late September I applied 10 gallons per day fish, tea and kelp and the plant took every drop. The root system on this plant was freakish , which no doubt contributed to the late season growth. I honestly do not know which product is best but I will be using it this year for sure.

I agree with you Andy, Biota Max is definitely going to used on all my plants this year. In my greenhouse environment, I think the 4 types of trichoderma and 5 types of beneficial bacteria is going to help. I plan on using it in conjunction with mycorrhizae, hopefully getting the best of both worlds..healthy plant equals big pumpkins

You drop the tablet in water and it works like a denture tablet and foams up and dissolves into the water. Basically it's carbonated.

I've used biotamax for 2 years, the first year the plant was very healthy and vigorous. It was a squash plant and had issues setting a fruit. But the root system was great and the plant very healthy. The second year my plants were flooded and I split 2 fruit. So does it work? I think so. Is it the best product out there? Probably not. But cost and ease of use are a huge plus. Will I use it again? Maybe

Be careful of the link your using. The biggerpumpkin link sells them for $7.88 while the biggerpalm link has a price of $5.85 and they are the same thing. There are several other places to buy, just check out the price. Free shipping is on all that I have seen. Why spend a couple more bucks if you don't have to?

1 tablet would be more than adequate for 1000 square feet.

You'll get most of these organisms in good quantity, and in a functioning nutrient cycling system with a properly made aerated compost tea.

That being said, if it were me using this product I'd let the mycorrhiza have a head start on colonization (4-5 weeks) before adding the Biota Max. I'd need to do a bit more research on colonization times of VAM on giant pumpkins, but you get the idea.

The issue with trichoderma and mycorrhiza is that trichoderma (and high P) has been shown to inhibit mycorrhizal colonization. Once that relationship has been established though, I haven't seen any data that shows negative effects from using trichoderma at that time (and there have been many studies showing the benefits of trichoderma).
