I was wondering how often I should be watering my plants. They are like 3 weeks old and not laying down yet. I've been giving them good water everyday. Not sure if I'm doing the right thing or promoting root rot and vine breakage?

"Feel" the soil with your fingers to a depth of 1.5-2" down. It should only be damp with a dry surface. The soil should never be "slimy" wet.

Use crossed tomato stakes above and below to ease the vine down. Warm midday sun will make the vine more flexible. When the vine gets close a handful of soil plus crossed stakes should nail it down.

depending on rain i only water small plants every 3 days so roots will seek out water .
unless they start to wilt from the sun then i spray with the hose a little.
by watering everyday the stump may rot out on you.
I had that happen once.
been raining pretty regularly here so far this year.
matter of fact it is raining right now.
