I am getting ready to order up the calcium nitrate I need for the patches and realized I really don't know any brands or mediums to looking for. Can somebody mention a few brands or specifics I can tell the guy at my gardening center, or would it just be easier to go to home depot? Remember I'm up here in the willy-wags and we do't have everything you 'city folk' may have available.. Thanks guys

Stunner, We have very little agriculture left around here but the Agways that are still operating can still get it. Don't know the trade names they're stocking though. I'm going to use a liquid flowable form that is made by CSI Chemical from Bondurant, IA & sold under the trade name "Nutri-Cal". It is considered overkill by many farmers & is often used instead by orchard growers & flower producers. It is much higher quality than typical ag grade calcium nitrate & is more readilly available to the plant. In other words it is milled finer & then chelated with TOG, an organic chelating compound derived from rice hulls. Cool stuff. It works faster & more completely than conventional ag grade calcium nitrate. No surprise then that it costs more.
If you want to try Nutri-Cal try:
Kelly's Green Team is a distributor that your local garden ceneter can call. 660-627-5500.
LESCO can UPS deliver directly to you 800-321-5325 ask for item# 068717 2.5 gallon jug.
I doubt Home Depot would have either type but I could be wrong.
