Hello Steve (Tremor)- I wanted to ask your opinion on where I might find a 55 gal drum or two so I can solar heat my water. This is another planned addition for me this growing season.

From one of your earlier posts -
"I plan to collect rainwater from my garage this year. And since I sell Horticultural Spray Oil in black plastic 55 gal drums, I have a virtual unlimited supply of good used ones."
Any ideas where I could get one for cheap?
Too bad I'm not closer to CT - I'd ask you for one.

Cheers and thanks.

Hey Erick,

I'll get that Excel program out after I reconfigure it a little. It's open as I type. At the moment, it's confusing.

Yeah, we've got more of those barrles around here than we know what to do with sometimes. We do have a seed blending plant in Silverton, OR. If there is any kind of landscape, Tree Care, or Lawn Care market around, then we'll also have a sales counter in the place. I'll phone them in the morning to see.

I've never been to this one. So not sure if folks buy Horticultural OIl in drums there or not. If so, customers often return empty drums for us to recycle. I then pick up the ones I need. They'll offer the same if the situation exists.

Ceis.............Call your local junk yard. That is where they are found in my community. Cost 5.00 - 10.00 for the heavy duty plastics food barrels. They are all blue here and may indicate food barrels????

Thanks Guys.

Anyone know what the optimum water temperature should be for AGs?

Should it be in the 75 to 80 degree range?

I'm thinking warm water, a timer, fertilizer injector, and overhead sprinkler system can't be beat.

Thanks,
Ceis

Unless you can get an unlimited supply of Heated Rainwater....

Blue does not always indicate food barrels.
I used to work on a Printing Press and our Glue
came in blue barrels.

You folks should read, "Oxygenation of Water" , on this page. Some mind provoking thoughts and questions.
