For those of you who use drip irrigation and/or misters...any suggestions on where to buy these things? How well have they worked for you? Anyone have any designs or plans for setting up either the drip irrigation or the misting system?

Thanks
Steve

Hey Steve Scott Armstrong has a pretty good description of a misting system in the "How To" section...He also used dripworks! Grow em Big!!! Chuck

I used the ideas from Scott Armstrong's article. I bought a Nomis irrigation timer at Home Depot. I also use soaker hoses along with the misters.

I used a product called t-tape on the plant that grew my biggest this year: http://www.groworganic.com/a/a1.html?pMode=View&pcatID=1504&sText=t-tape&sCategory=112&sSort=Best&sMax=10&sDisplay=Normal&pStartAt=1

it's fairly cheap, and pretty durable. i used a gravity feed of water from a 55-gal drum set about 4 feet off the ground. i would let it siphon out overnight, as it took a few hours to empty the barrel at that head. i'll be using it again next year.

Andy, How many feet of t-tape were you running off your
50 gal drum, and did this set up water evenly over the entire run ? I had to run a regulator to 20psi with my
drip system in order to get even watering, and would prefer to use a gravity type system to enable the use of captured rainwater. Thanks in advance for sharing the info. Duff

...oh, and another thing...could you fertilize through the t-tape without gumming up the works ? Thanks

i cut the t-tape and ran about a dozen parallel lines about 15 feet long(10 inches apart), which were buried parallel to where the secondaries would run. so, i used about 150 total feet of line. i'm not sure what the pressure was at 4 feet, but it was pretty low, since it took so long to empty. as far as fertilizing goes, i believe you can do it with t-tape, but i didn't. i used pond water. i didn't use chemical fertilizers on my pumpkins this year.
