Any "threads" already posted on drip system spacing? I'm putting in a new sytem and was wondering if there was any diagrams or pics on the sight/ p.s. I tried search function and not having much luck, anybody know of a thread or pics in diaries? thks Jim

If you run your laterals parallel with the main, then 10-12" spacing is fine. If you run your laterals parallel to your secondaries(as I will do), then place them on either side of each secondary. Placing them parallel with secondaries will keep you from having to work around them as much when burying. That lateral you already have run the full secondary length can be moved aside until you're finished burying it.

Hi Jim-

I use T-Tapes, specifically the 15mil. 4,100ft. T-Tape in the 12" high flow rating (can be found at dripworksusa.com) and I space mine about 18". It is important to note that the water does not travel straight down once it gets in the soil (assuming you are not on a sand bed). The water will form a cone shape and move laterally as well as vertically.

The systems I have installed called for 12"-18" spacing. Heavier or loamy soils can tolerate the wider spacing.

thks folks... I'm considering a "gravity flow" system from the tanks with 1/2 inch supply line to the drip... My concern is ... will I have enough pressure to feed all those drip lines. suppose I could just put cut offs at each plant and water one at a time?

Jim, try dripworks.com they have a calculator type page, where you can figure out yer needs...water pressure is a key, but they explain the whole deal...or they also have experts to help you set up a drip system. Peace, Wayne
