If I was to use water from a pond could that cause any problems? the pond is standing still most of the summer.

Its really hard to say. The water if stagnant can lead to deisease. I asked the same question a while back because the only water source I had was a pond. I had no problems at all but I eventually sucked the pond dry.

Disease is a big issue with AGs. Unfortunately, when you use pondwater you get diseases from miles upstream. Just a paranoid oppinion from someone who had some bad compost spread over the patch a few years ago.

sink a well point into the ground near the pond let the sand filter it out for you.

I have to pump water probally from a pond this year again unfortunetly. I run it into barrels and then through a filtered drip system. I do pour Neem Oil in the barrels and I spray weekly with disease control so Ill have my fingers crossed again this year. I dont have to wrry about upstream disease I just hate the fact that its warm stagnant water. But those are the cards im delt so I gotta deal with it.
