I have a problem with the pressure in my soaker hose watering system. I have a small patch just over 500 sq. ft. and it is completetly covered with soaker hoses spaced about one foot apart(about 10 fifty ft hoses). the first two hoses are from last year and all of the other ones are new.My problem is that when i turn onthe water to the hoses, there is not enought pressure at the end of the hose system to cause the hose to sweat properly. the beginning part of the hose system sweats profusely though. I tried to turn up the pressure at the faucet but the only cause the first part of the system to sweat even more with very little effect on the end. What do you think is the problem? Too many hoses in line? OLder hoses at beginning are worn out from age?other?? Thanks for any help you can give.

Sounds like to many in line they sell 5 wau hose splitters, but tough to do now with them all down. try running some fert through it will clog up the bleeding holes and push water to the new hoses...Just a thoujht..Chuck

Thanks Chuck. I thought about building some type of manifold to hook the hoses up to. I got a late start so my plants aren't too far out of hand yet. I might give it a try.

hey greenhorn, i have a book about soaker hoses and it said to only run 100' ft. on each row. I built a header and ran 6 100' runs and it worked good.

I think the key word is "sweat". Sounds like you are using the sweating rather than emitter type hose. If so the install must be nearly level. The sweat types clog easily.
Take a moment and look at PC Emitters which come in line from DripWorks.com They are forgiving to pressure and elivation differences. I feel they all work better in shorter runs from a header. Make sure the header can supply the volume and pressure to feed the T off lines.
