I know many use soaker hoses but what about drip irrigation? Do you use emitters, adjustable emitters just at the base, dripline parallel to the vine, a grid system to do the entire patch regardless of where the plant goes, etc? Any help appreciated, layout ideas, gph, on-time, etc. Thanks.

Mine seems to be working well just keep track of how much water you are adding each time you add a new button. Mine has got out of control. I feed the plants through a inline feeder that goes to the misters as well as the buttons. The buttons have valves so I can control the amount of water. I have also added misters under the leaves that are on a valve. I use these on fert. days and for pumping sevin to the bottom sides of the leaves. I have learned that you need to be able to control your system very well. I have buttons between every leaf node, this seems to get water to both tap roots. I have almost 0 water waste. And the plant is getting(if my math is right)500 gals a week as it grows I add stuff. If you have any questions feel free to e mail me.Good luck

Best addition to drip irrigation is a soil-moisture meter that has a relay and can open a valve or start a pump. Irrigation is stopped as soon as the soil-moisture content is back to the level you want it. Will save gallons of water and protect the plant.
I saw this as a ready-to-go product but decided to construct it on my own for next year. Electronic is quite simple, will be 15 $ for the meter with relay (guess you can obtain it from Radioshack). The ohmic resistance of the soil is measured with two metal stripes plugged into the soil about 4 inches.
