I've read alot of message's and hope alot of growers will reply to this message so there is a wide range of responses.
The question " How often do you fertilize your pumpkin plant or patch and with what Fertilizer "
ie. " Daily with every watering with 15-30-15 etc. or water daily but fertilize every four days or fertilize daily but switch fertilizer every day, (ie. 15-30-15 one day, 20-20-20 the next and seaweed the third then switch back)

I water every 2 days to get 1.5" a week. My fertilization in the early stages is a wekly drench of miracle-gro/neptune harvest. Will start adding also a weekly foliar feed of neptune harvest in 2 weeks. Useing a 20-20-20 mixture from week 6 through week 12, then 1-1-3 for rest of season. pumpkinpiper

Slow and easy wins the race. Overdoing it will have you crying the blues, when your pumpkin splits or blows up! Plants should have at least 1" of water a week.(Good drainage is the key here).5 or 10 minutes on a hot day(overhead) will fix wilt. I fertilize once a week (more potassium after fruit set),until growth slows in September. Each plant should have a total of about 3# of Nitrogen throughout the season, a little at a time.I also use seaweed/fish fert throughout the season. This year, I'm also using Foli-cal from fruit set to weigh-off.

Kilr, I have read that up to 5lb. of N is ok. Do you think that is too high? What about the amounts(lbs.) for P and K?. Or does it mostly depend on what our soil tests come back as? ...Tom

I add the fertilizer in with almost every watering. i mix it at less than the regular rate, since i add it every time. the key for me has been to ease up and even stop adding the water solubles (20-20-20) just before pollination. i will slowly add them back into the water once the fruit gets over 100# or so, but even less than the previous rate.

I use liquid flower fertilizer 4-3-3, 1 cap in 0.5 gal every two or three days. They sell it as "liquid Guano", so it´s organic. The flowers that got it have nearly exploded since. Should work okay to set flowers on my pumpkins.
