What does everyone like to start out with for Nitrogen in the soil before planting their Atlantic Giants?

Depends on Percent Organic Matter. But most crops will benefit from a smidgen of soluble N early while waiting for microbes to liberate what mother has in store.
There are really too many variables to generalize about soil applied N.
What's your soil condition herbie?

Organic matter is fine because it is fresh breaking along with 4 loads of 15 year old cow manure. pH is high, but I can amend that with sulpher. N is at 28, which the soil test indicated was in the medium range. Phosphates and all the micronutrients are in a good range, but are locked down because of my pH. I figure if I spread some urea to double my N or some ammonium sulphate 21-0-0-24, I can lower my pH in a couple of years. Will too much sulpher make my other veggies taste bad?

1 lb of N from AS would be good. But no more than that.

To correct that first "!". I love snow, the "!" was to emphasize my amazement. Really, the winter was dissapointing, but now it's SPRING! AleX.
