Is drip tape better then overhead sprinklers?

i would have to say it depends on how hot your daily temps get overhead misting can help cool the air down around your plants to keep them growing even when very hot if temps don't get over 90 on a regular basis you can get away with a drip system hope that helps

also forgot to mention the condition of your soil if you have good soil that drains well but doesn't get dry watering needs change again

Given that all that replied are still in drought emergency restrictions, any watering is unlawful. With that out of the way, I've placed individual hoses (50' each) along each row of plants and drilled holes in the hose where the plants are. From there I have a main hose that is attached to a 54 gallon garbage can that catches rainwater off the main roof. I use individual shut-off valves for each row to control the use of our precious water. While this isn't perfect, it does conserve our well water considering we are close to 14' below our normal water table for this time of year.

It's npt unlawful to water fruits or vegetables, AG's are fruits s it should be legal to water them.

I use a combination. First I use drip hoses. Then when the plants are big and the temps are 90+ I mist.
