My name is Marty “Giant Jack” Nagle (Given to me as in Jack and the Bean Stalk) I live in Eastpointe, Michigan My biggest is an 827lb (estimated) I’ve been growing for 14 years, that includes this season. I’ve never had an unsuccessful or unproductive season beginning my 3rd year. After a successful commercial grower taught me the trick is to learn to be consistent year in and year out and build from there. Because his income depended on it, of course. Over the years, I’ve grown everything from tomatos, peppers, eggplant, melons, shade gardens, butterfly and hummingbird gardens that included 16ft. butterfly bushes. By doing nothing more than sticking to the basic approach and method the commercial grower taught me years ago. I only modified it based on recent dicoveries and breakthroughs. Other people began calling me for help and advice. The next thing I knew, people were asking me to take over from their service and began hiring me to manage their summer landscapes instead. Which came right on time because I’d resigned my chair in the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra in 1987 for greater creative control in a local band. We made it out to A and M records and quickly discovered we were up against a 1000 other bands and success seemed to be based more on buying executives ounces of coke and a total suck their asses and party approach. None of which any of us had the money or the stomach for, so we returned brokened and disillusioned and none of us got out of bed for a month afterward. I have a beautiful wife and daughter, who just graduated and is college bound. My hobbies are growing, socializing and getting beat up on the Bp website.

Hi Marty, nice to meet you. Best of luck with your patch. Your landscaping job sounds like a lot more fun than my office job in downtown Boston.

Hi Giant Jack I think there should be some apologies be made to you by some of the forum police, since you were bashed so badly and I see no else ever had to go into such great detailed just to talk on this forum, I know I never have. I read your posts and I took what I wanted from them and they never bothered me and no one forced me to read them. I have doubts that anyone will apologize thou, for their rude mouths. You were welcomed before this thread in my book Good Luck Gene McMullen Streator, Illinois

Thanks for the warm welcome and I apologize to everyone for entering this site asp backwards. A lot of the credit goes to Jeff and Southern. If Jeff hadn't explained what's gone on, you had a guy with 5 screen names wrecking havoc? And Southern explaining how I should first be setting myself up on the site, well, I'd still be throwing my hands up, "Snake oil salesman! Just for that, I'm going to cram my knowledge down their throats with a long handled spoon!" Snake oil salesman, I'll give 'em Dick Vitale alright, was my mood. But what a relief to have gotten beyond Don needing to include a pair of boxing gloves with every book order, just to go on this site!
