i've heard that coffee and egg shells are good for the garden cause they attract worms. also heard that tea bags retain water to help keep garden moist. what is your take on all this. i've been saving this stuff all winter.

yes, all that is very good material for the garden. but I would only add the coffee grounds to the soil directly and compost everything else before adding it to the soil. you can also compost the coffee grounds first. also, I would definitely grind the egg shells before adding them to the compost pile because they would take forever to decomposte otherwise...

I agree Martin 100% If you feel you would like to know how much I work about a half inch, of fresh coffee grounds, into the soil and I scatter an equal amount, on the soil under my mulch. We get a lot of coffee grounds free. The compost gets the rest. You can watch the, on the ground, coffee grounds. If the worms take it all down add a bit more, on top, of the mulch. The rains will filter it, to the soil. The worms will process it and give you great casts.
