I use white plastic barrels that a citrus based floor cleaner comes in. They rinse out clean and haven't seen any adverse effects. Car dealerships or detail shops usually just discard these. Dripworks supplied the plastic valve for on/off and attachment to garden hose. Good luck!

Trash barrels with a pump in them also work, I use them. AleX Noel.

How about ones from a car wash, the chemicals that were in them should not be bad right ?

Depends on what the chemicals are Dennis....

Car wash soaps are detergents & should rinse out. Waxes are another matter & I would hesitate to use these drum until testing.

The best test is to let water stand in a suspect drum a couple days. Then dose a bean, tomato or even an AG seeding full strength while exposing the seedling to some temperature stress just for good measure.

All drums are labeled per contents. If they can not be read I would not use them, for any gardening storage, of anything.

Food contents would seem the safest bet for a safe water holding or tea making drum.
