Pappy, (Ref-grower diary) Just curious how long it had been since your soil had last been tested, and what minerals were found to be deficient. I have never had my garden tested in the 7 years I have been growing in it. I have been thinking about having it tested. Where did you have it tested. Thanks Bill

Hey Hoss, This year I used Kinsey Ag. The test runs $40 but I was very pleased with the test they sent back as well as what to add prior to & during the upcoming season. And they are always willing to take time for you when you call with questions. ( I bug them alot) Here is a link to their site http://www.kinseyag.com/ Hope it helps..............Paul

Paul, Thanks for the information. I really should have it done if Im going to try and grower bigger pumkins. All I have ever applied is fertalizer at planting time. Horse manure in the fall. And last spring a load of soil from a barn yard. Im sure its deficient in something.
Also I was able to get into the grower diary section and was able to look at Pappy's soil test recomendations. Thanks.

I think i'll jump in here. if you want good info on your soil, you're going to have to pay a bit more. i get mine done through A+L labs, probably one of the better testers out there. It costs about 30 dollars. i would also reccomend Kinsey AG, as i have seen their tests, and they do give good reccomendations. You want as much info as you can get, especially pH, macro and micronutrients, salts, and percent base saturation.
