My interest in it is not for fertilization. Its supposed to repel white flies and aphids as well. Thought this might be a good way to go rather than the Malathion I've been using.
Anyone tried eliminating the pesticide in favor of this? Results? Its kinda expensive (12.00/foot) so your opinions are going to determine whether I give it a go or not.

Do a small test first. Use potted plants that are known to be succeptible to white flies & aphids. If it works there, then expand to the patch.

I would never bet the entire season on something that has no agronomic reason to perform this way. At best, casting might serve as a scent based repellent. But there is no other reason it would work well enough to chance a viral transmission.

Merit is much cheaper & very effective at controlling both of those pests without spraying if it's applied & timed correctly.

What is this? I Googled it but that one word has too much range. Got a link?
Mostly my issue with spraying is that the way my patch is situated, it is difficult to really get in there and spray the undersides of the leaves, which is where the aphids are hiding. Do you know of a product that can be sprayed over the top of the patch and be effective?

Merit is the Turf & Ornamental version of "Imidacloprid". I am linking you to the Agriculture version of "Imidacloprid" for your review. This version is mixed at 1.3 oz per gallon of water which them applied to 1000 sq ft. Then it is watered in. The roots absorb the material. The plant translocates it. Bugs that feed on it die. Thje effective resicual is from 60-120 days depending on the size of the plant treated & the pest you are targetting.

Since it can be difficult to locate Admire many growers use Merit instead.

You can do a search here on this site for the word "Imidacloprid" & find many reference to it's use in the "pest control" section. There is also a good article on it's use in the "How To" section of this website. The author is Len Stellpflug who has been growing AGs for many years.
