Brandon I got mine today. Wow! Thank you for being so generous with us, I appreciate all the work you have put into it. I have a couple of questions. 1. How much water do we add to the Manganese sulfate to properly dilute it. 2. Are the Dahlias the exhibition ones for size or are they a different kind?

I didnt know what might be helpful... so I threw in everything but the kitchen sink. I may not have a good answer for every question but... The dahlia is a red/yellow mostly 3-4 inch one... Its not a dinnerplate one. Its a good one for practice / to get started. Dahlias could be a fun side hobby to pumpkins? My guess is / from what I know they grow great the same soil as pumpkins.

I think zinc and manganese are supposed to be similar ppm. I have a package of zinc that says a teaspoon per gallon but its probably targetting the way-high-end... Thats for soil drench. Guessing you'd want to be at 1/10 th of that... Best to just leave it in your cupboard until you know its needed based on a test.
The other item is from last year but it was refrigerated. Its extra I dont need. Hopefully its good. I want the new guys to grow big.

Mrs. Harris's Purple Hardneck garlic... It will take a couple years to get established. It can grow in an area that doesnt get much attention. I dont know the exact variety. . . It was from the previous owner-- growing wild here on my property.

Giant Zucchini: We dont have any prize money yet but I think that may change by the end of the week. It was my pleasure to make this happen but I will throw it out to the group someone else is up for it next year I wouldnt mind a year off. I am happy to do it again but thinking it might be nice to rotate... Maybe someone else will want to give it a go.

It may be a sprawling plant. Its an oddball/exotic... Maybe somewhere between a regular zucchini, and a pumpkin and a marrow? It seems that it may be unique/unusual. Most gardeners can say they have grown a 'giant zucchini.' But we are not most gardeners... I think we should try for world records whenever possible.

The “zucchini” seeds were from one that weighed 29.5 lbs. There were a couple above that weight and a few below. The parent was a 7 pounder. My hunch is that my regular zucchini crossed with a field pumpkin. This large zucchini is exactly like a zucchini. Taste, everything. Except the plant has some sprawling and a few vines. At the very end of maturity it turns orange. I’m not sure what you’ll get if you grow it. Sure was a surprise.

I sent seeds to the UK on Monday. I hope the Candian growers got the correct packages... Might have been some last minute mix ups. If anyone should have gotten one and didnt, please let me know!!!

Garden Rebel, I live about a mile north of Lebanon and had several come up volunteer in harsh sites, creeping, just like you explain. The seeds were from field pumpkins, next to zucchini in the garden. They did start to turn orange as they got overly mature. I understand they hybridize readily.
