To all who may be interested:

Unfortunately all but one of the Schmit seeds are so light I'm expecting the germination will be a challenge... I'm unsure if they are viable at all. So I don't want much in return. Its a gamble whether these might be worth as much as a Gerhardt or Gansert...

There are three of the 2106 and they weigh between .42 and .46 grams. The 1965x1385 weighs just over half a gram so I think it is viable.

The squash seeds are unopened I assume they are good...

Hi, if you are able to get an 811 you may not be impressed by its weight, most are medium small seeds relating to the thin white shell of the 1230 Daletas and the smaller profile of the 603.5 Muller. I have 680 and 681s which are both selfed 811s but sorry I'm all out of the actual thing. The 811 only had about 220 seeds in it. I am happy to help you out if interested. Good luck in your quest!

K thanks for the info on the 811 seeds. I would be happy to plant a smaller seed in this case. The 800 mcmullens are a small seed too, but I think they will be viable.

I have found that a large seed coat can weigh .3 g. Perhaps .35 g.

A thinner, smaller profile seeds would have a seed coat weighing half of that... Maybe only .15 g.

The weight of the embryo is what matters right?
So any germination test could determine a probable estimation or the actual average of the seed coat weight (using dissected seeds) and subtract that from the seed weight. The embryo in a heavy .8 g seed might be .5 g and the embryo in a .4 g seed with a large seed coat might weigh only .1 g or less.

My guess is that if the embryo is less than .07 grams it's not viable to nearly any grower. And that even those which weigh up to .25 grams would be considered difficult to germinate. The ones that pop out in two days and have roots coming out of the bottom of the pot after four days... I bet these are are starting life at .5 grams.

I will post results in my diary from any experiments I do, but for those who want to be able to make their own observations, a good .001 gram scale can be purchased for $20 or so. Mine was the AWS brand & purchased via Amazon.
