hi this is my first post on here and this will be my first year going giant. :) i plan to grow giant pumpkins and other veggies with my daughter this year. she is 4 yo and my whole world. she loves the outdoors and helped me with a small garden last year. hoping to turn this into a daddy daughter tradition. :) any help or advice is greatly appreciated. im located in Helena, MT. Everyone on here is so nice so far lol. Thanks for everything so far. I hope to learn lots of great info and have something to show for it lol.

Glad to hear there's another pumpkin grower here in the Big Sky. We are having a weigh off in Missoula in the fall and have a nice group of growers in the Big Sky Pumpkin growers from Polson, Shelby, Hamilton area and Whitehall. Hope you'll join us. tnx jwest. i am hoping to have something that my daughter and i can bring to the weigh offs. :) i have talked to Emmett also what a nice bunch of people pumkin growers are lol. Somehow I thought it might be a lil more cut throat. I do have the info for registration and entry for the weigh offs thank you. :) Now I just need to prep and grow lol.

Cut throat, nah, we rent planes, catapaults and try to drop giant pumpkins on each other! :) There are a lot of ways you can cut your own throat though, a lot of beginner mistakes can be made.

if your pumpkin doesnt meet the giant pumpkin requirements, then we take it to the nearest pumpkin chunkin contest !!! lol.... :-]
