*Note 1: The OTT is based off the measurements the growers provided at the weigh-off that I abstained from to ensure no bias in measuring occurred (*back dated this dairy post). I measure to the half inch, but some growers go to the quarter inch to ensure maximum accuracy😉
*Note 2: I have used the 2013 Team-Pumpkin chart for the entire season to allow for better comparisons to past seasons and I plan on using it going forward as well. What is interesting is the new 2025 GPC chart lists the pumpkin at 2198 pounds (or only about 23 pounds difference). So, while one chart may be older the estimations seem to be holding up.
What has been nice to see are the superficial skin cracks were continuing to show signs of growing which also ensures the pumpkin itself was also expanding. The original intention was to take this pumpkin to a later weigh-off due to the continual measurable growth and excellent plant health. However, one small spot completely changed the plan, but the goal is to know what it weighs.
