Some thoughts. The game plan for the 1448 Bongers in 150 ft will be slow and steady over a long, long, long time. The climate here may actually allow this. But I need to do things right on my end also.
Keep pumpkin cool. Keep pumpkin dry. Keep the plant going, with some fresh new growth allowed. Have different watering options to optimize different weather scenarios. Water around 9-11 am. Be able to cool/ humidify the plant. Keep the roots healthy by rotating watering, not watering for too long, too hot or cold, and... keeping the worms and soil biology happy. And adding the right amounts of the right nutrients (boron?!) over the entire course of the grow, by monitoring visually, or by tissue testing.
Last, maybe I can boost the production by using a white fabric or something under the plant, somehow. I think I need to grade the patch (level it) as best I can now and put drip lines and berms for flood irrigation zones before the vines get too crazy.
Plus, all the usual stuff.
Conclusion: Another trip to the greenhouse supply store.
