I don't know if anybody else has this problem with later tomatoes. These are all damaged by the birds. They peck to get the seeds out. I say 10 years ago this never happened. The birds have obviously gotten smarter. BUT ALAS...it's a terribly dangerous game for the birds to play here. There are 15 cats out there preying on them in those tomato plants. They catch them all the time too and it's game over. They have caught 3 or 4 already.
