Another place interesting just outside of town.Trinity Lutheran Church in Crimora, Virginia is the oldest congregation in Augusta County, Virginia. It dates it's humble beginnings to the year 1772 when Michael Keinadt came down to the Shenandoah Valley from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with his wife Margaret Diller Keinadt. The first log church was built in 1794 and located just about the center of the current Trinity Cemetery. But the cemetery was in use long before that time. It is believed that burials began about 1730 or 1740. As the years passed, the church was referred to as " Coiner Church Cemetery". Many of the early burials were of the Keinadt ( Coiner, Coyner, Koiner, Koyner ) families. It is interesting to note that some graves date back to veterans of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. It is believed that a corner section of this cemetery even has burials of unidentified soldiers killed during the Civil War.
