Sometimes the second true leaf creates a "kickstand" and holds the vine in the air keeping it from laying down, when this happens, many times you can dig out from under it a little at a time and let the vine lay down. Sometimes, you just have to cut it off. This was the case for the 1921. The leaf was fighting my attempts to get the vine safely on the ground, so it had to go.
