This is digging the patch Paton style. The patch is divided into 18 40sqM lots and amendments put on times two, this is because the soil is so deep. For those interested were putting on 2kgs Ammonium sulphate 2kgs Sulphate of potash 2kgs Superphosphate 2ks Ground chalk. The phosphate is to give the roots a good kick start. The Sulphate is because we sometimes have issues later in the year with a lack off. Chalk is there only for calcium but it will raise the pH. Anything else will get used during the year.
