Turned on the heating cables and covered the area with plastic as a test to see how soon they will be put into use. Day one from 3PM to 9PM the temp went from 55.2F to 58.4F but during the night I had a 1degree loss.
The next day I covered the plastic with a blanket the temp was 57.4 at 7AM and went to 64 by 9PM, during the night the temp rose another 1.3, no drop in night temps.
I will shut them off and give myself 3 to 4 days be for planting time to warm up the soil.
