16 dap, need to defoliate some nearby leaves. According to my amateurish Ott measurements, I think the estimated weight is 55 lbs, goal for the season was 100, thinking I may need to reconsider!

Big rain event today

Hit 140 Ott today, 56 in circumference. Big rain last two days and adding some fertilizer to try and green up around the stump. Sprayed everything yesterday with fungicide/insecticide combo, hoping the oldest leaves around the stump green back up, may have seen start of some powdery mildew. Still have a back up on the oldest secondary, it seems to be doing well also, may decide to keep both for insurance. Terminated all growing ends

Officially 20 dap, 140 Ott, 56 in cir yesterday, seems to imply a 70ish lb pumpkin. We've got a 4 day camping trip next week, it'll be interesting to see what we come back to!

A plant I'd given up on in the weeds put on a fruit, giving it a shot growing blossom down to see if I can get a nice shape

Another abandoned pumpkin, I couldn't bring myself to pull it, so I flipped the main vine 180 degrees to make room. I'm going to try and get another blossom down pumpkin on this one. Not expecting much, but if it Flowers, might as well give it a shot!

66 inch circ, 162 Ott, charts at appx 105 lbs, 25 dap. 10 lbs/ day for last two days. Leaving tomorrow for 4 days, hoping to come back just in time to see it gear up to peak growth. Something I read indicated most pumpkins hit about half their final weight around day 35, if I keep up 10 lbs/day, could I be shooting for 300 by season end? Small by standards around here, but I'd be stoked

Leaf problems... Is this a disease, bugs, or some kind of deficiency,? It's right near the stump, and seems to be following the main vine, oldest leaves first, should I be cutting them out?

Concerned I may have gummy stem blight? It started at the stump and has been spreading out from there, where you see no leaves behind the pumpkin is actually the main vine, I've been clipping the leaves as they get bad. Now that it's basically at the pumpkin, do I need to harvest it before it gets 'infected' or can it make it to the end of September? I'd hate to cut it so early, but I'd like that a lot better than a rotten pumpkin...

First harvest of the season. I gave up growing for size about half way thru and let several more flowers set fruit after my main kin seemed to stall out, the three on the floor weigh 102, 45, and 103, all from the same plant, which currently has 4 more growing on it, each in the 50-60 lb ballpark, wishing I could have had all that in one, but a bunch of good size kins is fun too.
For next year, need to do much better on weeds. Protect and manage the stump better. Start using liquid fertilizer much earlier, I used granuals in the trench mix and don't think it got nearly enough early in the plant growth phase. Use rooting hormone on the nodes, but maybe not bury the entire vine. Definitely need to stay after the tertiary vines, they got way out of control. And limit the number of fruit I allow to set, 1 or two max, not freaking 7!

It was a fairly sparsely attended weigh off, but we took home the Howard Fill award! Not bad for our first year

Five of the six we grew on the same plant! The other was about 100 lbs, 650 lbs all together!
