Lloyd Bright (Left side) was 3rd with his 237.7 lb melon. Me (center) with my new Arkansas state record of 291.4 lbs, and my Mom, Becky Lindley (right side) with her 253.4 lb melon. She deserves a lot of props for all the help she does with the melons, from picking culls, following me around in the rain measuring, filling spray jugs, you name it she does it... Thanks to my Dad Jerry Lindley too, If I can't measure or spray he does it, he helps with the patch prep and dirt work... It's definitely a team effort especially when we have 11 melon plants, 4 pumpkin plants, 4 long gourds, 3 bushel gourds, 5 giant cantaloupes, 2 field pumpkins, and a large garden.   Saturday, September 16 View Page Here's the 253.5 Lindley 17 (272.5 K Neptune × sibb) from last weekend's weigh off at Roberts Family Farm in Guston, Kentucky. He finished 7th with 213 lbs on our only traditional plant. So here's the 213 Lindley 17 (239 Leonard x self). The heat got this melon when it was a few days old or poor pollination by me. The blossom end is pointed down.
