1911 Urena is starting to run beating out the 1937 now. If I had chose plants earlier I would have picked the 1937. I don't necessarily believe in planting two and picking the better.

1911 Urena continues to grow about 6-7 inches a day on the main. Was able to get some Vines burying done which will hopefully accelerate the plants growth. Saw my first female about 8 ft out on the tip. I really need to get this plant going with an early pollination because of the extreme heat here in SC. About to order some white shade cloth for June on. Dave

Pollinated a fruit this am at 21 ft had one fused love and one deformed love so I decided to work with my 6/1 pollination long fruit created a bunch of slack in the vine and straightened the stem some by pushing and mounding sand. I always try to position the fruit correctly so I don't have to move it again. This fruit appears to have taken but I have had much larger aborts the size of a canteloup so I will keep the mutant on for now.
